Abortion Crisis

Abortion Questions and Answers

Q: My ex-boyfriend talked me into having an abortion. I am devastated at my decision. Will I be forgiven? Will you please pray for me? P.N.

Dear P.N.,

A: You are one of few who realize what you did was against the very nature of our being. God spoke to Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" Jeremiah 1:5, and He speaks that to every living being including the life that He has created within the womb. God has predestined the life of every human born and unborn.

You can be forgiven just as David was forgiven for sinning against God. David was a man of God but he too sinned when he committed adultery with Bathsheba, another man's wife. He then killed the husband of Bathsheba by having him killed in battle. David not only committed adultery, he committed murder and lied. How could God ever forgive him? Yet God did forgive him. David repented to God for his sins against him and asked for forgiveness. "Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight." (Psalm 51:4) When he sought forgiveness from God David was forgiven and you too will be forgiven if you only repent and ask with all your heart and soul.

You are convicted of your sin and that is why you feel devastated and God is calling you to repentance. No matter what anyone else tells you, if you repent of your sin and ask Jesus to come into your heart, you will be forgiven. God will wash and cleanse you of all sins and offer to you the peace that only Jesus Christ can bring. Ask Christ to come into your life today. With him "we have forgiveness and redemption, the forgiveness of sins." (Colossians 1:14)
